About our dal bhat & thali
Dal bhat is not a dish, it is the day. Rice and lentils with a curry, a vegetable, a pickle and a papad — eaten twice daily across the whole country. Order it and you are eating what Nepal actually eats, not what it puts on a menu for visitors. Six thali to choose from, including sukuti: sun-dried buffalo, smoky and chewy, the one to order if you already know the cuisine.
We cook to order, so tell us your heat level and we will match it. Chulo is a family-run Nepali, Himalayan and Indian kitchen on Derry Street in Harrisburg — you order here, on our own site, and the restaurant is paid directly with no third-party commission taken out.
