About our desserts

Mostly milk-based, all meant to be shared. Gulab jamun are warm dough spheres soaked in cardamom syrup; rasmalai is soft cheese in sweetened, thickened milk; kheer is slow-cooked rice pudding. Yomari is the outlier and the one to try — a steamed rice-flour dumpling shaped like a fig and filled with molasses and sesame, made by the Newars for the Yomari Punhi festival.

We cook to order, so tell us your heat level and we will match it. Chulo is a family-run Nepali, Himalayan and Indian kitchen on Derry Street in Harrisburg — you order here, on our own site, and the restaurant is paid directly with no third-party commission taken out.
