Dal bhat is not a dish, it is the day. Rice and lentils with a curry, a green, a pickle and a papad — eaten twice a day, every day, across the whole country. Order it and you are eating what Nepal actually eats, not what it puts on a menu for visitors. Dhido is the older hill-country version, made from buckwheat or millet instead of rice and eaten with your hands.

We cook to order, so tell us your heat level and we will match it. Chulo is a family-run Nepali, Himalayan and Indian kitchen on Derry Street in Harrisburg — you order here, on our own site, and the restaurant is paid directly with no third-party commission taken out.
